TO THIS

Just to prove that I can finish bikes sometimes, here is the stage 1 transformation of the W650
Short alloy guard on the front; modified original front guard on the back; vintage tail light; mini indicators; Japaneses custom seat; Blue and White paint by me; Scallops taped up by Sara; pinstriping and lettering by Damien
The whole bike looks and feels much lighter now and has a real old school Brit feel to it.

The tank has been reworked with the super fat Kawasaki badges removed and the knee pads taken off and the big rectangular holes where the mounts were welded in have been cleaned up and filled before painting.

Much nicer bike.

We will be taking it down to Deus tomorrow to see if it gets any reaction. I have all the parts to remove the air box but that can wait for a while. We spent some time in the Deus workshop today with Doug the owner and Dave the Head Mechanic, looking at the Hinkley Triumph Flat Tracker that they are going to race at the Burt Munro Classic in November. Custom built frame by Dave plus loads of full race go-faster parts in the engine. Looking forward to seeing that one finished. John Key was even in for a coffee today so custom bikes must be getting popular. He got a free Deus t-shirt. None for us!! He didn't buy a bike though.

Great bike - saw it at Deus after the Levy rally. I have a stock w650 and really like it but it is a bit quiet. Did you have to rejet for the triumph pipes?
Hi Will. Standard jets but it takes ages to warm up and run right. Got some good info from Chop Cult on how to set them up with dyna jets when to take the air box off.
